Belut. A Filipino dish consisting of a boiled fertilized duck egg embryo. I love trying new food, and did manage to down half of this. But something about picking out feathers and duck beak left something to be desired.

I recently had the opportunity to spend a week in Manila, Philippines working as a digital tech on a shoot. We didn’t have much free time, but on the last day we were able to get out of metro Manila and up to the countryside a few hours drive away. The fresh air and relaxed atmosphere was a pleasant change of pace to the constant traffic and pollution in Manila. We spent the afternoon at Sonya’s Secret Garden; an eco lodge with expansive greenhouses/gardens, spa and organic chicken farm.
